Euthanasia literally translates to "good death" and as someone who worked in the death industry for 5 years, I am intimately associated with dying, death, and after death processes. Despite this experience, nothing in this life prepares you for the responsibility of choosing the "when" of your beloved companion's death. I had many discussions with our primary vet regarding Bane's impending death and I knew I wanted him to die at home in his favorite spot. They referred me to Codapet in order to make sure Bane would be able to die at home. When the day came, Dr. Wasmoen respectfully entered to our home. She was calm, soft spoken, patient, and reassuring. Her transparency and stable presence during one of the hardest decisions of my life cannot be understated. Although, I will never be able to describe in words the gift she gave my family by helping with this transition; I can say that Bane died peacefully, with dignity, and surrounded by love. THAT is a "good death" to me.

My beloved senior tuxedo cat Neemo got diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in his mouth and jaw and began to decline very very rapidly. When it was time to say goodbye, I dreaded taking him to a vet clinic or ER where we would have to ride in the car, sit in a waiting room with people and other pets, and not know exactly when we would be seen for a last-minute or walk in appointment. Clicking that schedule button was honestly emotionally one of the most difficult moments I've ever faced, but in my heart I knew it was time, so I was very thankful for the option to schedule so quickly. Dr. Becca and vet tech assistant Morgan in Los Angeles were absolute ANGELS on one of my hardest days ever. When they arrived at my apartment, Dr. Becca and Morgan greeted me and Neemo kindly, and talked with me about his life and what kind of cat he was which really helped me feel more at ease. She then talked me through exactly what the procedure would entail and what I would expect. She talked with me and to Neemo throughout the procedure in a calm, reassuring voice which relieved both his anxiety and mine immensely until his final moment. I was then given a moment alone with my baby to hold him and to say my final goodbye. I truly could not have asked or hoped for a better goodbye for my precious feline child. And the mementos I now have of him- his ashes, prints of his nose and paws, and a clay paw print are beautiful things I will cherish forever. Thank you again to the wonderful Dr. Becca and vet tech Morgan for their compassionate care through CodaPet. Veterinary professionals like them are truly angels in our world <3

Losing a my shadow Titus has been one of the hardest things my wife and I have experienced, but Dr. Bean and his partner made an incredibly painful day a little easier. Before the procedure, he asked if he could praying with us which meant more than words can express. The level of genuine care is something we'll never forget. Thank you, Dr. Bean for treating our family with such compassion during such a heartbreaking time. We're forever grateful 🙏

I always knew we would choose in home pet euthanasia for our beautiful Tesla. She had lymphoma and despite all the chemo and this awful disease, she was in the pool every day playing fetch, up until the day before she died. The last day, we brought her out to the pool, but she couldn't even keep her own head up, so we floated her and let her relax in her happy place. Dr. Heather White came over later that day and was so respectful and kind. She even got into the pool with us so Tesla could transition without even having to leave her beloved water, the place where even with her joint and bone pain, she could play like a puppy. It's traumatic to lose a dog, but the magic they bring to your life while they are a part of it makes up for that trauma tenfold. For all the peace dogs give us, giving that peace back to them in their final moments, instead of dragging them to yet another vet appointment, is the very least we can do for them. It was one of the saddest days of my life, but Dr. White helped make it also one of the most beautiful.

Dr Lane was incredibly kind and walked us through every step of this process. He loved on our pups and chatted with us as we waited. He had answers to our questions and we felt very grateful for this process because it was calm and not chaotic in a hard time.

Dr. Gary Hsia is a true earth angel. I could not have asked for anyone better to put down my sweet Captain, a 13.5 year old Chinese shar pei. Dr. Gary was so unbelievably loving and just so perfect for this situation. I got to talk to him about Captain in the beginning, he told me the procedure and let me take as much time as I needed with each step. He wrapped my sweet baby up and carried him to his car , I just could not have asked for a better way for this to happen. I think the build up to this event was worse than the actual procedure itself. Captain was so relaxed and calm, I couldn’t even tell when he passed. Dr.Gary starts with a sedation to make them feel so relaxed then when the other shot comes it’s just like the first, really can’t tell the difference between the two. I can’t recommend Dr.Gary Hsia enough. He is so incredible!!!

Saying goodbye to our sweet dog was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, but having the opportunity to do it at home made all the difference. From the moment Dr Perzak arrived, she treated our family and our dog with such kindness, compassion, and respect. She took her time, and explained everything. Being able to say goodbye in the comfort of our home, surrounded by familiar sights and the people who loved him most, gave us so much peace during an incredibly difficult day. While I hope no one ever has to make this decision, I cannot recommend this service enough. If you're considering at-home euthanasia for a beloved pet, know that it is a truly loving gift, and this team made one of the worst days of our lives as peaceful and dignified as it could possibly be. Thank you for helping our boy cross the rainbow bridge with such grace and compassion. We will always be grateful.

Dr. Magnotta was beyond wonderful. She was kind and sweet to my Belle. She made the process so easy and gentle. I told my sons God scooping her up himself, wouldn't have been as nice as how Dr. Magnotta handled my sweet girl. I will be eternally grateful. Thank you so much!

Dr Morris was very patient and kind during a very difficult time. She explained everything very well. She was comforting, and listened to stories about our dog, that we were telling to help get through. While I don't wish this experience on anyone, Dr Morris was really great.

While we experienced a very sudden and difficult day in our lives, and the weeks that have followed there was so much care and compassion the second Dr Wratten arrived. Jack’s pain and discomfort was the top priority while she carefully and gently explained the process and gave us the time we needed each step of the way while hearing Jack’s stories. I couldn’t recommend Dr Wratten more in these painful and grief stricken moments. Thank you Dr Wratten for your kindness and compassion and taking such great care of Jack in his final moments.

Dr. Amanda was so kind. Soft spoken and really made this transition a little easier for me. She was so gentle with my baby, even after she had passed. From the moment Amanda got there, she walked us through the entire process. She was very patient and gave me all the time I wanted with my baby. She made me a paw print, nose print and even collected some hair for me. Definitely recommend
